Painting And Refinishing A Small Wood Desk

Silver Sage Wooden Painted Desk

I bought a wooden desk a few months ago at my favorite second hand store. It’s always hard to find compact desks that offer storage. I liked the one I bought because its solid wood and finished on the backside (no need to stick it up against a wall). It also has two fully functioning drawers, and a pull-out writing board, making it a perfect desk for homework!

I gave this piece 2 coats of House&Canvas Furniture Paint in Silver Sage and a coat of Clear Wax for durability. I swapped out the hardware for some super cute gold arrow drawer pulls, and lined the drawers in some old wrapping paper.

I loved this desk so much I decided to keep it for my daughter!! She is quite tall, so once I added a chair, I noticed she couldn’t comfortably cross her legs under the desk. I needed to add some height to the legs!

I purchased caster wheels off amazon and they were the perfect solution. They added just enough height to the desk so that my daughter can sit comfortably. They were really easy to install. You literally just screw them in. A perfect solution for adding some height to a peice!
